Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 28 June 2026
Our commitment
Cicely Access Ltd is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, regardless of disability, assistive technology, or how they access the internet. Accessibility is central to our mission — we build tools for lived-experience participation, and we hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of the organisations we work with.
This statement applies to withcicely.com.
Compliance status
This website aims to conform to the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard, as referenced in the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
We believe the website is substantially compliant. We are a small team and this website is actively in development. We keep a live list of known issues below and work to resolve them.
Accessibility features
This website includes:
- A skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page.
- Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and interactive controls with visible focus indicators.
- An on-page accessibility panel (A11Y in the navigation) with options to reduce motion, increase text size, switch to high contrast, and switch to a dyslexia-friendly font.
- Automatic respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionandprefers-contrast: moreoperating system preferences. - ARIA labels, live regions, and descriptive error messages throughout the contact form.
- Alt text on all meaningful images.
- A logical heading structure on every page.
- All interactive elements meet the minimum WCAG 2.1 AA touch-target and focus-visible requirements.
Known issues
We are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to address them:
- Some placeholder pages (blog posts, case studies) are not yet published and link to coming soon states rather than live content.
- The animated cycling word in the hero section can be paused using the on-page pause button, but users relying solely on voice control may find the control harder to activate — we are investigating improvements.
- Colour contrast for some muted text elements (labels, captions) may not meet the enhanced 7:1 ratio required by WCAG 2.1 Level AAA. We are reviewing these as brand colours are finalised.
If you encounter any issue not listed here, please let us know (see below).

Technical information
This website is built using React, TanStack Start, and Tailwind CSS. It is tested with keyboard navigation, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and NVDA on Windows. We test for colour contrast manually using established contrast-checking tools.
We prepare this statement in good faith and review it whenever we make significant changes to the website.
